Gemstone earrings from Lyppens jewellers
Earrings with gemstones are not only beautiful but they can also compliment the colour of your eyes or your hair extremely well. The colour of a gemstone can complete your look or compliment your outfit perfectly.
At Lyppens, all the earrings with gemstones are made of 14 or 18 karat yellow, red or white gold. The colour of the gemstone is normally very important when selecting the colour gold. The most important gemstones are ruby, sapphire and emerald.
Ruby
Ruby is a gemstone surrounded in history and mystique. The most beautiful examples traditionally came from southern Asia and primarily Burma, India and Sri-Lanka. More recently beautiful gemstones have come from the African continent also. The ideal colour for ruby is a deep red but ruby also occurs with pinkish, purplish or brownish undertones within the red. Long before the chemical composition of ruby could be analysed, it was believed to be a separate unique gemstone, but in actual fact ruby is the red variant of sapphire. If you are looking for a beautiful stone to compliment your look to a classy or informal occasion, ruby is a perfect companion in your earring.
Sapphire
The most beautiful sapphires are traditionally found in Southern Asia. Just like its sister stone, ruby deposits in Africa and especially Madagascar have recently supplied the world with a new selection of just as beautiful examples. Sapphire is a gemstone that is commonly known to be blue, but did you know that sapphire occurs in a wide spectrum of colours? These other colours often have a lighter pastel colour tone, making them ideal to compliment your summer or casual look, whilst the royal blue colour of sapphire has traditionally always served as a very classy colour also ideal for the more formal occasion.
Emerald
Emeralds are traditionally found in South America with the world’s most beautiful emeralds coming from Columbia but again just like sapphire and ruby, beautiful examples are now found on the African continent. The colour is always green, with the most prized colour a green with a bluish undertone. Emerald can also have a lighter greenish yellow undertone, these stones are commonly found in Brazil. Emerald is a slightly more sensitive gemstone than ruby and sapphire which is why it is ideally suited for earrings.
Large collection gemstones
The world of gemstones certainly does not stop at those three gemstones. There is also a vast collection of tourmaline, amethyst, aquamarine, tanzanite, morganite or garnet, to name a few. These gemstones are ideal to complete a summer or winter look and often create a colourful and bright casual look.
Earrings with gemstones and diamonds
Diamonds can complement gemstone earrings perfectly. Lyppens jewellers have a beautiful collection of gemstone earrings but also a collection of gemstone and diamond earrings. This can be done with the traditional cluster surrounding, a central gemstone, but also a more modern morganite, tourmaline, or amethyst and diamond to complete your look. The combinations are limitless.
