Yellow gold vintage 1970s ram earrings with diamonds and ruby

Description

18kt yellow gold earclips in the shape of a rams head set with brilliant cut diamonds with a total weight of approx. ca. 0.20ct, colour F and clarity VS. The eyes are set with cabochon cut rubies. The earrings are inspired by the Neo Etruscan period.

The Etruscan style (8th–3rd century BC) is renowned for its refined use of intricate goldworking techniques. Thanks to archaeological discoveries in the 19th and 20th centuries, this style lived on as a lasting source of inspiration for jewellers and designers. The rediscovery of these advanced techniques encouraged craftsmen to create jewellery in the distinctive Etruscan style.
