18kt yellow gold vintage 1970s ring in the shape of a bee, set with brilliant cut diamonds with a total weight of approx. 1.00ct, the eyes are set with cabochon cut ruby. The shank of the ring is of floral design. The ring is made in New York by Herbert Rosenthal.
Herbert Rosenthal founded his company in the 1940s in New York and became renowned for his high quality bee jewellery pieces that appeared almost lifelike when worn on a revers.
By the 1970s, his fame had grown to such an extent that he was offered an exclusive design contract by Tiffany & Co. to create their bee stickpins.
