Yellow gold vintage 1970s ‘day and night’ earrings with lapis lazuli and diamonds
Description
14kt yellow gold vintage 1970s detachable drop earrings with golden bows set with brilliant cut diamonds with a total weight of approx. 0.10ct, colour G and clarity VS and cabochon cut lapis lazuli set in a bezel setting. The earrings are named day and night because they are wearable in two ways. By day as ear studs and by night as festive drop earrings.
The 1970s were known for their free-spirited, expressive style and a deep connection to nature and global cultures. Vintage jewellery from this era was often inspired by exotic influences from the Middle East and India. Less traditional gemstones such as lapis lazuli, tiger’s eye, coral and amber were widely used. These organic and natural materials, often sourced directly from these regions, give the pieces a distinctive, bohemian and worldly character that remains popular today among lovers of authentic vintage earrings and boho jewellery.
