Yellow gold and platinum vintage Belle Époque earrings with pearls and diamonds
Description
14kt yellow gold with platinum vintage Belle Époque stud earrings. The bow shaped stud earrings are decorated with a millegrain and set with rose cut diamonds and pearls in the centre. Briolette cut diamonds dangle from the bottom of the earrings.
The Belle Époque, which began around 1895, was entirely devoted to diamonds, often set in platinum, and drew inspiration from the eighteenth-century French court at Versailles. Characteristic of this period is the exquisite craftsmanship, such as the millegrain technique, where tiny metal beads form an elegant decorative pattern, clearly visible in these refined earrings. Artisans created almost lace-like designs that felt light and delicate, often combining diamonds and pearls to achieve a soft, luminous glow. Thanks to their intricate details and timeless appeal, Belle Époque jewellery is still regarded today as an icon of style and elegance.
